Former Laker Karl Malone, who went to school at Louisiana Tech, went on a Twitter rant Sunday after his school missed out on a bowl game.

Louisiana Tech had an invitation to the Independence Bowl in its pocket, but was hoping for an invitation to a more lucrative bowl. Independence Bowl official weren’t happy with that, and, after Louisiana Tech failed to receive the bowl invite they were waiting for, Independence Bowl official told them their invite was no longer valid. Result: the 9-3 Bulldogs aren’t going anywhere.

And that made Malone mad.

“I am Bulldog to the core,” Malone wrote. “I am heartbroken and embarrassed that our university would do this to Tech Nation. To our football and staff this is exactly what is wrong with our university.”

Then, “Now it’s time to get former athletes to run our program. I’m 6-9 and not hard to find.”

Then, “TechNation what I have been saying for a long time, start hiring former tech athletes to get the pride back into The university and athletics.”

Then, “Whoever made this desicision have the (guts) to tell the guys why. As one alumni of La. Tech I want to know why.”

Looks like officials at Louisiana Tech have some explaining to do.
