Most people will look at Tiger Woods’ season on the PGA Tour and focus on one statistic: 0 for 4 in the majors.

The world’s top-ranked golfer prefers to take a glass-half-full approach, calling it “a pretty good year.”

“Very satisfied,” he said after the Tour Championship on Sunday.

Woods shot a fourth-round 67 to tie for 22nd in Atlanta. The result did not win him the FedEx Cup’s $10-million bonus, but he will receive $3 million for finishing second to Henrik Stenson.

He can also claim the most prize money not including the Cup bonus, the lowest scoring average and the most victories on the Tour.

“I won five, which is, I think, a pretty good year,” he said. “I wish I would have been a little more consistent in some of the events, but overall, at the end of the day, you know, to add to the win total for the year, it’s always a good thing.”

Asked if he could live with the idea of falling short at the Masters, British Open, U.S. Open and PGA Championship, he responded: “Well, I can live with the fact that I grind each and every day. There are days where I just don’t have it. I don’t have my game.”

Woods said he will now concentrate on preparing for the President’s Cup and will play a couple of events through the fall, identifying elements of his game that need improvement for next year.
