Numerology readings on the Lakers’ reserves
All those dreadful games in which the Lakers’ reserves coughed up double-digit leads may soon become a distant memory.
The Lakers acquired strong secondary scoring by persuading Antawn Jamison to sign at the veteran’s minimum. They immediately bolstered their outside shooting by acquiring Jodie Meeks. The Lakers made sure to hang on to young promising prospects, such as Jordan Hill and Devin Ebanks.
So it’s safe to assume that the Lakers reserves won’t fare any worse than last season, when they finished last in the league in scoring (20.5), 20th overall in shooting percentage (41.6%) and 28th in efficiency (27.2). But to what degree will the Lakers will improve their bench players? It’s hard to say.
Will the Lakers rely too much on their star-studded starting lineup? How long will it take for the newcomers to adjust? Will Steve Blake have a breakout season or just show more maddening inconsistency? What ceiling does Ebanks and Hill have in their development? The Lakers currently have a 14-player roster, including 13 under guaranteed contracts. The lone exception is Andrew Goudelock, whom the Lakers have a team option. Meanwhile, second-round draft picks Darius Johnson-Odom and Robert Sacre are unsigned. Will they stay on beyond training camp?
To help answer those questions, I thought I’d gather numerology readings on the roster. After all, it provided pretty clairvoyant takes on what may be in store for the Lakers’ starters.
Enter the name of any Laker along with his birth date and the website Affinity Numerology will provide a comprehensive analysis of that person broken up into several categories, including inner or soul’s urge, personality, quiescent self, destiny or ultimate goal, life’s path, this year’s path, next year’s path and last year’s path. I chose each category based on how accurate the reading was on that particular person. Perhaps this will provide more clarity on whether the Lakers’ efforts to bolster the bench will make a significant difference or just go to waste.
Steve Blake, Lakers guard (Your Inner or Soul’s Urge)
“You are sought after for your wisdom. Probably you are somewhat shy and deeply emotional, but with a horror of showing it. For more complete personal understanding of life, work on expressing your emotions, trusting your feelings, less avoidance, and being sympathetic and understanding with people. You possess a tremendous inner wisdom.”
Earl Clark, Lakers forward (Your Destiny or Ultimate Goal)
“Your destiny is service to mankind and representing all that is fine, true, and generous. This is easier with tolerance, compassion, and understanding. You have tremendous power to warm the hearts of humanity and to stimulate the perception of beauty.
“You have an eye for beauty and perfection and are inspirational, kind, understanding, generous, an inspired artist, intuitive, and psychic. You give freely of your emotions, your skill, and your leadership purely for the benefit of mankind. You have the ability to use words effectively and artistically, both written and verbal.”
Devin Ebanks, Lakers forward (Your Inner or Soul’s Urge)
“You can cultivate self-discipline and strength of purpose and would do well to find a quiet time for meditation every day. Being contented with small things (so long as you experience ease and comfort) and not overly ambitious, you do not demand wealth and luxury.
“You are very sensitive and emotional, easy-going, friendly, and fall in Love easily. Yes, your heart wants Love, devoted companionship, and a harmonious home. You are often studious, attract many things to yourself, accumulate much wisdom. Spiritual and psychic sensitivity are available to you simply by your recognition of them. As such, you have the capacity to develop clairvoyant or other psychic abilities.”
Chris Duhon, Lakers guard (Your Life’s Path)
“You sense that experience is the best teacher and that you learn best while you maintain your sense of individual freedom. You may have a tendency to misuse your freedom with over-indulgence of the senses, but that can be corrected by using your holistic sense of free will to go on to new adventures, and thereby discarding what no longer serves a purpose.
“You have an innate ingenuity and can benefit from scientific, inventive, and resourceful people. You are versatile and clever. Things don’t stay the same for long where you are.”
Andrew Goudelock, Lakers guard (Last Year’s Path)
“This is a year of change for you, a year to get out of the rut. Your opportunities are found outside ordinary routine. New opportunities and new conditions are manifesting (some may appear unexpectedly) -- new relationships, new ideas, new contacts, new enterprises, new plans -- more freedom, more variety, more travel -- broader fields of interest and activity.
“It is a year of new experiences -- change, growth, fun, freedom. You feel an inner push to go do something, anything, so long as it’s a new experience. You notice more opportunities to travel. It is time to take advantage of the prevailing atmosphere of change and variety to learn something new. The year adds new life and color to your undertakings.”
Jordan Hill, Lakers forward (Your Destiny or Ultimate Goal)
“You are a builder, a manager and organizer to build solid foundations and structures that last for your and others’ security. This applies to all work you undertake. Rather than just dreaming, you strive for tangible results. Your success depends much upon your personal determination, sincerity, perseverance, patience, and honesty.
“You are systematic, methodical, trustworthy, dependable, and effective; a craftsman, a builder, and an organizer slowly and surely building for the future. You are solid yet durable, precise, and dignified. When you have a definite goal, you are persistent until it is reached. You know the value of a job well done.”
Antawn Jamison, Lakers forward (Your Quiescent Self)
“You are courageous and daring. You enjoy dreaming of accomplishments never before achieved, with yourself as leader or promoter. Your thoughts and pleasure are related to leadership and expression of your unique self. Also, family and friends are a credit to you, and people recognize your abilities.”
Darius Johnson-Odom, Lakers guard (Your Life’s Path)
“Your path includes developing your talents of invention, seeking the discovery of new principles, and elevating everything to the plane of inspiration. If you decide to investigate the psychic, healing, and metaphysical fields, you will be able to put them to their highest use. Trust your intuitions. Inspire by your own example. You can effect more change through persuasion than by force.
“Your opportunities are along spiritual lines or in the realms of invention, metaphysics, politics, or acting. You are liable to achieve great public attention and influence if you do not seek them from ulterior motives. You do well helping others reach their goals.”
Jodie Meeks, Lakers guard (Next Year’s Path)
“This is your year of achievement, your year to make great strides in business, employment, promotions, monetary compensation, and/or the accumulation of possessions. It is your harvest time. You feel ambition stirring, a desire to better your financial condition. To accomplish this, it is necessary to be businesslike, efficient, and practical all year.
“Many opportunities present themselves. To gain your rewards, move forward in a businesslike manner and with sustained effort. Your state of mind, mental capacity, education, experience, and self-confidence are all part of your success and financial advancement. You feel desire to make a special effort to improve or bring to a successful conclusion some of the ideas and dreams of the past years. This is a year of action. Place your abilities on the market with a sense of self-confidence and authority.”
Darius Morris, Lakers guard (Next Year’s Path)
“More so than usual, you feel desire to move forward, to improve situations, to assert your individuality, and to get on with life. Reach for opportunities and they will come to you. Life is beginning anew! Now is the time to put your best foot forward; to take up a hobby or other activity that will freshen your thinking and broaden your general activities; to look ahead.
“This is an active year with many decisions to make. Your affairs are making a new start. The next nine years’ experience will depend a great deal on what you do and don’t do this year. It calls for strength of purpose, clear thinking, and listening to your inner voice.”
Robert Sacre, Lakers center
