Globetrotters invite Kobe Bryant to battle Washington Generals
After the Lakers lost their fourth straight game Thursday night, Kobe Bryant remarked, “Right now I wish we had the Washington Generals on our schedule.”
The Lakers are set to visit the Washington Wizards on Friday, the second night of a back-to-back. If, however, Bryant is truly interested in playing the Generals, that opportunitiy is readily available.
Via their Twitter account (@Globies), the Harlem Globetrotters offered to set something up against their regular sparring partners.
“Kobe wants to play the Generals next. We can make that happen. Just ask former Globetrotter @MagicJohnson. Kobe -- give us a call,” read the Globetrotters tweet.
Lakers great Johnson joined the Globetrotters back in 2003 to defeat Michigan State (his former team), 97-83.
Naturally Bryant won’t be available for the Globetrotters on Friday, but certainly the invitation stands should Bryant have some interest this off-season.
