While you were sleeping, the Lakers lost to Golden State, 115-89

SHANGHAI -- Don’t tell the Lakers if you slept through their exhibition game Friday against Golden State. They might get jealous.

While you were sleeping, the Lakers tipped off at 4:30 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time and looked weary in a 115-89 loss that ended their week-long China trip.

Pau Gasol had a solid game, and it ended right about there for the Lakers, who dropped to 2-4 in exhibition play, 0-2 in China.

Gasol had 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes. He kept fans’ attention while Kobe Bryant stayed in the locker room until early in the fourth quarter.

Bryant emerged a few hours after a pre-game workout that included about 20 minutes of shooting. He is still not jumping, opting instead for a set-shot hybrid while going up on the tips of his toes.

Predictably, he received a loud ovation when he walked to the bench a handful of seconds into the fourth quarter. The sold-out crowd of 17,482 didn’t seem overly perturbed that it had to settle for Bryant in a suit at Mercedes-Benz Arena.

After getting burned down low repeatedly by David Lee in Tuesday’s game, the Lakers were beat Friday from the outside. Klay Thompson scored 25 points for the Warriors, making 10 of 14 shots and five of six from three-point range.

Nick Young had nine points for the Lakers. Chris Kaman and Jodie Meeks each had eight.

Coach Mike D’Antoni continued to shuffle the starting lineup, as is often the custom among NBA coaches this time of year.

Gasol, Young and Steve Nash started, and then it got interesting: Steve Blake and Shawne Williams.

The court was slippery and Nash took a first-half tumble that pretty much meant one thing. D’Antoni wasn’t going to risk playing him in the second half.

Nash was fine. D’Antoni simply didn’t want to see him fall again.

Wesley Johnson (sore foot) and Jordan Farmar (strained calf) both played after sitting out Tuesday’s 100-95 loss .

The Lakers were scheduled to return to Los Angeles immediately after the game. Their next exhibition is Tuesday against Utah at Staples Center.
