College basketball roundup: No. 6 Tennessee routs Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 79-51

Admiral Schofield scored 16 points, Kyle Alexander had 12 points and 10 rebounds and No. 6 Tennessee breezed to a 79-51 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sunday.

Grant Williams added 14 points and nine rebounds for Tennessee (6-1) in its last tuneup before a Dec. 9 showdown with No. 1 Gonzaga in the Jerry Colangelo Classic in Phoenix.

Jordan Bowden also scored 14 points.

Myles Smith scored 16 points for Texas A&M-CC (4-4).

at No. 16 Ohio State 79, Minnesota 59: Andre Wesson scored 16 points, Kaleb Wesson had 15 and Ohio State beat Minnesotain the Big Ten opener for both teams.

C.J. Jackson and Musa Jallow each added 11 points, and Duane Washington Jr., and Kyle Young had 10 apiece to help the Buckeyes improve to 7-1.

Amir Coffey led Minnesota (6-2) with 19 points, and Dupree McBrayer added 13.

SOUTHLAND

MEN

at Valparaiso 82, UC Riverside 73: Derrik Smits scored 18 points with six rebounds and Markus Golder scored 16 to lead Valparaiso, which has won three of its last four and has scored at least 72 points in those games.

at Washington 67, UC Santa Barbara 63: Noah Dickerson scored 22 points and had eight rebounds to lead Washington. Jaylen Nowell had 17 points, including a tiebreaking jumper with 1:13 left that gave the Huskies the lead for good.

Indiana 67, at UCLA 65: Down two with 29 seconds left, the Hoosiers’ Jaelynn Penn hit a three and later a free throw as Indiana remained undefeated. Kennedy Burke scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds to become the fourth Bruin with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 100 blocks.
