Hornets’ Kidd-Gilchrist injures right shoulder

The Charlotte Hornets might have incurred their first serious injury of the preseason Saturday when small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had to be hospitalized after suffering a right shoulder injury.tmpplchld The injury occurred in the first half of the Hornets’ first exhibition, a 106-100 road victory over the Orlando Magic. Kidd-Gilchrist was fouled by Magic forward Tobias Harris while curling off a pick offensively.tmpplchld Kidd-Gilchrist missed the rest of the game and was sent to an Orlando hospital in the second half for an X-ray and further evaluation.tmpplchld Injuries _ particularly a stress reaction and a late-season knee injury _ limited Kidd-Gilchrist to 55 of a possible 82 games last season.
