SAN JOSE, Calif. A video posted on Facebook shows a group of San Francisco 49ers fans kicking and punching a man wearing a Minnesota Vikings jersey on Monday night as an outmanned security employee tries to break up the attack.

Last year, a video depicting fan violence at the 49ers’ new stadium in Santa Clara led to the arrest and conviction of two Central Valley brothers who attacked two men in a Levi’s Stadium bathroom.

The most recent video which was shared nearly 30,000 times by early Tuesday afternoon and had more than 12,000 comments was recorded following the 49ers game against the Vikings on Monday night at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara and depicts a brawl that occurred in what appears to be a stadium parking lot.

In the video, two men wearing 49ers clothing are seen kicking and punching the man, who is on the ground, with at least one kick hitting the man squarely in the face. The video clearly shows a man wearing a Jerry Rice No. 80 jersey delivering a kick that hit the man in the face.

At one point it appears a woman also delivers a kick.

One security employee in a yellow jacket is seen trying to intervene, but was unsuccessful. Eventually additional stadium security workers arrived and stopped the attack. The man is seen getting up and walking away.

Santa Clara police have assigned detectives to investigate the case, according to Lt. Kurt Clarke. Police have not identified any suspects in the assault.

The man who posted the video, Brandon Cosio, wrote on his Facebook page that the Vikings fan in the video was exchanging words with another fan outside the stadium. He wrote that the men were “talking smack to each other, getting into each others’ faces.”

Fans stepped in and separated the men, he wrote.

Cosio, who declined to be interviewed, wrote that the Viking fan shoved his wife into a barrier to try to get to the 49er fan, and at that point the 49er fan walked away.

Cosio said the Vikings fan turned around and challenged people behind him. As the Vikings fan was turning around to walk away, the 49ers fan in the black tackled him to the ground.

That’s where the video starts, Cosio wrote.

Last year, two Central Valley brothers punched and kicked two other men just before the kickoff of the team’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

One of the men, 35-year-old Dario Rebollero, pleaded no contest to a felony assault charge as part of a court settlement offer and was sentenced to three years of probation and 30 days in county jail.

Amador Rebollero, 28, pleaded guilty to two felony counts of assault likely to cause great bodily injury and was sentenced to five years in state prison.
