Update: This is the second meeting of the season between these Western Conference rivals. The Rapids won their first match, 1-0, on May 3 in Colorado on a goal by Vicente Sanchez, and it was the Rapids’ third consecutive victory over the Galaxy. The Galaxy is coming off a 4-1 loss to the Columbus Crew last Saturday. The four goals were the most the Galaxy had conceded in a single game this season, and it was just the second loss in 12 games for the Galaxy. But Colorado has lost four consecutive games, the latest a 4-2 loss to D.C. United on Sunday.
