Update: The Galaxy, Major League Soccer’s reigning champion, shifts its attention to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open, where it will meet the RailHawks, reigning champions of the second-tier North American Soccer League. And both championship teams will be looking to break out of season-long slumps, with the Galaxy having gone winless in its last seven MLS matches. The RailHawks are 0-4-5. The Galaxy, already without Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane, who are on international duty, will also be without David Beckham. Carolina is coached by former FC Dallas coach Colin Clarke and led on the field by former MLS players Austin da Luz, Nick Zimmerman and Jason Garey. The winner will play the winner of the Chivas USA-Ventura County Fusion game in the fourth round of the event, on June 5. The Galaxy returns to MLS play June 17.
