The top two basketball recruits are already feeling the nation’s reactions to their decisions.

Shabazz Muhammad, a 6-foot-6 swingman, reportedly lost 4,000 Twitter followers immediately after he announced Wednesday that he will attend UCLA. Muhammad was also considering Kentucky and Duke.

Nerlens Noel, on the other hand, instantly gained over 9,000 followers upon choosing Kentucky over Georgetown and Syracuse.

Noel apparently had 25,475 Twitter followers before the commercial break of his nationally televised announcement. After he publicly declared that he would play with the Wildcats, the 6-foot-10 center had 34,480 followers.

That number keeps increasing. As of 11 a.m. Thursday, he had 41,138 followers.
