As the Angels try to complete one uphill fight toward a playoff berth, they already have completed another uphill fight. After a spring of stunningly low attendance, the Angels have extended their streak of selling at least three million tickets to 13 consecutive seasons.

The Angels sold their 3 millionth ticket on Thursday, a club official said.

The Dodgers and Angels will combine to sell close to 7 million tickets this season, with the Dodgers expected to sell between 3.75 million and 3.8 million.

Two months into the season, the Angels’ streak appeared in serious jeopardy, with attendance down by almost 5,000 fans per game from the same point last year. The Angels are likely to finish this season down by about 1,000 fans per game from last season, when they sold 3,095,935 tickets.

The final total will be announced at the Angels’ home finale on Wednesday, against the Oakland Athletics.

The Angels sold a record 3,406,790 tickets in 2006. Sales of season tickets have fallen from 31,000 that year to 17,000 this year.
