Clippers’ Blake Griffin close to NBA’s technical foul limit
Clippers forward Blake Griffin has gotten to the edge of the NBA’s technical foul limit, putting him in jeopardy of a suspension.
Griffin was issued his 15th technical foul of the season Wednesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, tying him for the league lead with Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins.
If Griffin gets one more technical, he’ll be suspended for one game under the NBA rules and fined $5,000.
The Clippers have three regular-seasons games left — Saturday at home against Sacramento, Tuesday at home against Denver and Wednesday night in the season-finale at Portland.
Griffin was asked if he was worried about getting another technical foul before the season is over.
“No,” Griffin responded.
When the playoffs start next weekend, the technical fouls counter is reset to zero.
