LeBron James wants Donald Sterling to be removed as the owner of the Clippers.

“No matter how long it takes, no matter how much money it costs, we need to get him out of there -- and whoever is associated with him doesn’t belong in our league,” James told reporters after Wednesday’s practice.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver is urging Sterling to sell the Clippers after league officials determined that Sterling made racially charged remarks in a recording that was released late last week. Silver also fined Sterling $2.5 million and banned him for life from the NBA for his incendiary remarks.

James praised the commissioner’s actions, calling Tuesday “a monumental day.” But the Miami Heat superstar added that more needs to be done.
“It’s a win, but we still need the owners to do their part,” James said.
In order for Sterling to be forced to sell the Clippers, 75% of the league’s teams would need to
vote in support of such a move.
“We still have to wait on the owners’ decision, which I believe will be in favor of what we all believe in,” James said. “I’ve seen some of the owners come out and say they’re in favor of the decision Adam Silver made. But it’s not all of them. We need three-fourths of them, and I’ve only seen, like, three or four of
them comment. So we need more than three or four.”
The owners’ advisory and finance committee will hold a meeting Thursday to discuss next steps.
