UFC moves title-less Super Bowl card to Fox Sports 1
The injuries of heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum and former champion Cain Velasquez have scrapped an anticipated rematch for Feb. 6 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas and prompted UFC leadership to move the planned pay-per-view card to Fox Sports 1, according to a television official.
The new main event will be a welterweight fight scheduled for five rounds between former champion Johny Hendricks and eighth-ranked contender Stephen Thompson.
It is not determined when Werdum and Velasquez will fight.
UFC President Dana White did not respond to messages left by The Times.
