Watch Will Power crew member get clipped by Scott Dixon on pit row

Share

It’s dangerous on pit row.

During the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma, Will Power and Scott Dixon took pit stops at the same time. Power had to pull in at a sharp angle because Dixon’s pit was right behind his, leaving the back end of his car sticking out just a smidgen.

Both pit crews changed tires. Travis Law, a crew member for Power, was carrying a tire and walking around the back of Power’s car when Dixon pulled out, with the left rear part of Dixon’s car clipping Law, knocking him down and sending the tire flying. Another crew member also fell.

No one was injured, and strangely enough, Dixon blamed the whole thing on Law, saying he walked into him on purpose. Which seems a bit odd, because most people try to avoid getting hit by cars. However, it did appear Law wanted Dixon to have to go wide around him.

Dixon was given a drive-through penalty, costing him the race. The winner? Will Power.
