Kenny Orijoke understands what it takes to be a UCLA linebacker

Share

The difference between being a high school star and a college football player is now clear to UCLA linebacker Kenny Orjioke.

“I thought I knew it all when I got here,” Orjioke said. “I was wrong.”

In high school, Orjioke said, “you just go and attack. It’s a different game here. The difference in the talent level is very, very small. What differentiates you is how hard work, technique and how good you are with your assignment. You have to read and react.”

Orjioke figures in the Bruins’ plans at linebacker.

“The thing I worked on most between spring [practice] and now and new was being a more physical player on the edge. It will make me a better all-around player.”
