Records: Season opener for both teams.

Update: USC’s first season under Coach Andy Enfield was a forgettable one, but the Trojans have undergone an overhaul. The key will be freshman point guard Jordan McLaughlin, a much-sought recruit who chose USC over UCLA. McLaughlin scored 18 points in USC’s exhibition game win against Cal State Los Angeles, and he leads a USC lineup that is more skilled and athletic than last season’s. Portland State was 17-15 last season and finished fifth in the Big Sky Conference.
