Three share lead heading into final day at Tampa Bay

Kevin Streelman figured a good round Saturday would at least get him in the mix in the Tampa Bay Championship at Palm Harbor, Fla. It wound up giving him a share of the lead.

Streelman had a six-under-par 65 and was tied for the lead with Justin Leonard (67) and George Coetzee of South Africa (68). But this tournament was wide open heading into the final day, with 16 players separated by only three shots.

Nine players had at least a share of the lead on a warm, pleasant day at Innisbrook. Jim Furyk and defending champion Luke Donald were well within range, as was 19-year-old Jordan Spieth of Texas.

Ai Miyazato pulled back in front in the LPGA Founders Cup at Phoenix, making three birdies in a four-hole stretch on the back nine and saving par with a long putt on the par-four finishing hole.

The Japanese star shot her second straight five-under 67 after opening with a tournament-record 64. At 19-under 197, she had a two-stroke lead over Stacy Lewis and Jee Young Lee.

Lewis birdied the last hole for a 66.

Busch wins Nationwide race

Kyle Busch held off rookie Kyle Larson at the finish to win the Nationwide Series race at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.

It was Busch’s second victory of the season and fifth career Nationwide victory at Bristol, tying him with Kevin Harvick for the most in the series. Busch has a series-record 53 wins.

Joyful Victory led all the way in winning the $300,000 Santa Margarita Stakes by four lengths at Santa Anita, becoming thoroughbred racing’s newest millionaire.

Ridden by Rosie Napravnik, Joyful Victory ran 11/8 miles in 1:49.53 and paid $4.20, $2.60 and $2.10 as the even-money favorite in her first Grade I win.

More Chocolate returned $3.20 and $2.20, and Brushed by a Star was another 51/4 lengths back in third and paid $2.20 to show.

Will Take Charge ground out a victory in the $600,000 Rebel Stakes, nudging aside Oxbow for the victory by a head in the Grade II race at Hot Springs, Ark.

NFL free-agent receiver Donte Stallworth was hospitalized because of serious burns after the hot air balloon carrying him and two other people crashed into power lines above South Florida, his agent said.

The 10-year NFL veteran won’t suffer any permanent damage from the accident in Homestead, said Drew Rosenhaus, Stallworth’s agent.

Rosenhaus said one of the passengers was Stallworth’s girlfriend, but he would not say whether she was hurt.

Mikaela Shiffrin delivered an astonishing second run to overtake Tina Maze and clinch the World Cup slalom title with an improbable come-from behind victory at Lenzerheide, Switzerland.

The American teenager trailed Maze by a massive 1.17 seconds after the first leg and needed to finish ahead of the Slovenian to win the slalom title in her first full season on the circuit.

Shiffrin, who was fourth in the morning, had a tentative start to the second run but blazed down the bottom part of course for the fastest time of the afternoon.
