USC Athletic Director Pat Haden said he was “very happy” for Ed Orgeron, who has been hired by Louisiana State as defensive line coach.
Orgeron, USC’s interim coach for the final eight games of the 2013 season, left the program after Haden hired Steve Sarkisian as Lake Kiffin’s permanent replacement.
Orgeron, who lives in Louisiana, did not coach in 2014.
“Great for Ed,” Haden said Wednesday night when asked about Orgeron joining LSU’s staff. “He gets to stay home, he’s a great defensive line coach and knows that part of the world.
“He’ll do a fabulous job there. I’m very happy for him.”
Orgeron coached at USC from 1998 to 2004 and from 2010 to 2013.
