Bishop Amat receiver Tyler Vaughns commits to USC
USC coaches estimated they’d sign three to five receivers in the 2016 recruiting class.
With more than five months until signing day, they’ve reached the high end of that range.
Bishop Amat’s Tyler Vaughns announced his commitment to reporters Wednesday, becoming the fifth receiver to join USC’s 2016 recruiting class.
Vaughns, 6 feet 2 and 170 pounds, watched training camp practice last weekend and has made several unofficial visits to USC’s campus in the last two years. He was also considering Alabama, Georgia and Washington.
Vaughns caught 83 passes for 1,183 yards and 12 touchdowns during the 2014 season.
Vaughns’ high school teammate, receiver Trevon Sidney, announced his commitment to USC last month.
Receivers Velus Jones from Saraland, Ala., Josh Imatorbhebhe from North Gwinnett in Suwanee, Ga. and Michael Pittman from Westlake Village Oaks Christian also are committed.
