This month we are previewing each USC freshman joining the team in training camp.
Player: Dominic Davis
Position: Tailback/wide receiver
Number: 16
Height: 5 feet 10
Weight: 175 pounds
High school: Mission Hills Alemany
Hometown: Los Angeles
High school: The versatile Davis was a breakaway threat who also ran a 10.47-second 100 meters for the track team. As a sophomore, he played on the same team with Trojans’ receiver Steven Mitchell. Davis was once committed to Washington State.
USC tailback breakdown: Junior Justin Davis was Javorius Allen’s backup last season and senior Tre Madden is back after sitting out last season because of a foot injury. Davis and fellow freshmen Ronald Jones and Aca’Cedric Ware will get plenty of training camp opportunities to see where they fit in.
Season prediction for Davis: Could find a role in the backfield or as a slot receiver.
