Jack Del Rio will have two vested interests on Saturday

It’s a house divided for Jack Del Rio.

For whom will the former Trojans All-American be cheering Saturday at the Coliseum when USC plays Oregon State in a Pac-12 Conference football game?

During halftime of the game, Del Rio will be introduced as part of USC’s 2015 class for its Athletic Hall of Fame.

Del Rio’s son, Luke, is the backup quarterback for the Beavers. He transferred to Oregon State after walking on at Alabama his freshman season.

Jack Del Rio was an All-American linebacker for the Trojans’ football team and catcher for the baseball team in the 1980s.

He was co-most valuable player of the 1985 Rose Bowl, and played 12 seasons in the NFL before he became a coach.

Del Rio coached the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2003 to 2011. He is in his third season as the Denver Broncos’ defensive coordinator.

USC Athletic Director Pat Haden interviewed Del Rio for the Trojans’ head coaching position last fall, but Haden ultimately hired Steve Sarkisian.
