The lone running back in USC’s 2016 recruiting class is no longer committed.

Melquise Stovall from Lancaster Paraclete High announced his decision to withdraw his commitment on Saturday.

“I would like to thank Coach Sark and the whole USC staff for the offer, it was great being committed to my dream school. But I have decided to open up my recruitment,” Stovall wrote on Twitter.

Stovall, 5-foot-8 and 175 pounds, committed to the Trojans in April and has made several unofficial visits to campus.

Last month he competed at the Opening, an elite high school showcase, and played running back, receiver and cornerback. He said he wanted the opportunity to play each position in college.

Stovall is the second player to withdraw his commitment to USC’s 2016 recruiting class. Tight end Isaac Garcia from Bellevue High in Washington decommitted in May.

USC has 15 players committed and six scholarships available.

The Trojans are expected to sign no more than two running backs.
