USC’s odds of winning the College Football Playoff plummet

In the aftermath of its upset loss at Boston College, USC’s odds of winning the College Football Playoff have dropped significantly, according to the betting website Bovada.
The Trojans are now 40-1 to win the championship.
USC was 12-1 after defeating Stanford on Sept. 6. The Trojans were a 17-point favorite over Boston College before the 37-31 defeat.
USC opened the season at odds of 25-1.
The Trojans are off Saturday before playing Oregon State on Sept. 27.
