USC was better off after a bye week than after a victory.

At least that’s how oddsmakers see it.

After defeating Oregon State, 35-10, on Saturday, USC’s odds of winning the College Football Playoff narrowed to 33-1, according to the betting website Bovada.

USC was listed at 40-1 after losing to Boston College on Sept. 13. With an open date last week, the Trojans’ odds improved to 25-1.

USC plays Arizona State on Saturday at the Coliseum.

Arizona State was 100-1 to win the championship before a 62-27 defeat by UCLA. The Sun Devils are no longer on the board.
