Cyclist from Huntington Beach killed on San Bernardino County road

A 26-year-old Huntington Beach man died after his motorcycle collided with a sport utility vehicle near the Cajon Pass over the weekend, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Joshua Ryan Persons was riding on Highway 138 when he skidded into the oncoming lane on a curve about five miles east of Interstate 15 about 1:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the department.
His motorcycle then crashed into the SUV, which was towing a pontoon boat.
Persons, who was wearing a helmet, sustained major head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:54 p.m., authorities said.
The collision is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
