Could Travel Deal Tuesday mean bigger airfare deals than Black Friday or Cyber Monday?

You’re more likely to find the best airfare deals on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving than on Black Friday or Cyber Monday, according to airfare price predictor app Hopper.
For the last two years, company research shows that fare sales jump on what Hopper is calling Travel Deal Tuesday. Last year, airfare sales activity doubled on that day.
“The airlines offer major discounts because travel demand tends to die down following Thanksgiving,” a recent Hopper news release said. “Most travelers have already booked their holiday airfare, but haven’t started planning their winter getaways yet.”
Airfare sales Tuesday are expected to start around 6:30 a.m. and peak around 9:30 a.m. (Eastern time) but will continue throughout the day.
Estimated costs of round-trip ticket prices for international destinations include $529 to Beijing, China; $594 to London; $736 to Tokyo; and $341 to Mexico City.
Hopper boasts that its app tells you with 95% accuracy “when to buy and when to fly” to get the best deal. You can purchase tickets with the app too.
So what’s the best way to cash in on Travel Deal Tuesday? Hopper recommends setting up Flex Watch on its app, which sends you a push notification when it finds the best deals on destinations and travel dates you’re interested in.
