Alaska Airlines will allow loyalty program members to redeem 10,000 miles to pay for the TSA’s expedited airport security screening program for five years.

The airline announced Monday that its frequent fliers can use miles to waive the $85 application fee to enroll in the TSA Precheck program. TSA Precheck travelers don’t have to remove their shoes or belts, and can leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on.

Anyone can enroll in Alaska’s Mileage Plan for free. Here’s how to redeem this offer:

--Email TSAredemption@alaskaair.com with your name and member number.

--10,000 miles will be deducted from your account and an authorization code will be emailed to you.

--You still have to go through the TSA Precheck application process, which includes filling out a form and appearing in person for an appointment.

--Once you receive an appointment date, take your ID and proof of citizenship as well as the authorization code with you.

The offer is good through April 30.
