Deal: Heat and dust add up to savings at Arizona’s Boulders resort

If you can put up with the heat (highs this week are expected to range from 100 to 107) and navigate around some major renovations, the Boulders Resort & Spa in Carefree, Ariz., has a summer package that gives you a chance to relax and save at the same time.
The deal: The Truly Boulders Deal puts all 422 rooms on sale. For example, a two-bedroom villa begins at $389 a night. During the winter and spring, a villa starts at $800 or more a night. You also can find king room rates from $159, down from more than $400 in high season.
You’ll also get a daily $25 food and beverage credit for reach registered adult, 20% off spa services and free parking and Wi-Fi.
The downside, of course, is the major renovations to the lobby area and the main pool next to it.
