Staying in a Kauai rental? Your groceries can await you

Share

Visitors to Kauai now can have groceries waiting for them when they arrive at their rental properties.

Kauai KISS -- which stands for Kauai Island Shopping Service -- will ensure that a tourist’s favorite foods are in the pantry and that beverages are chilling in the fridge before they land at Lihue Airport.

The concept is simple, said owner Erik Coopersmith. He strives to eliminate the hassle of trekking to a supermarket before beginning a vacation. Before they leave for Hawaii, customers email or phone their grocery list to KISS.

For a fee, the groceries are then waiting for them upon their arrival on Kauai.

Coopersmith said he doesn’t mark up prices. Customers pay the register receipt plus the cost of delivery, which varies depending on where you’re staying.

Deliveries to Kapaa and Lihue cost $30. Getting groceries to Poipu or Princeville runs $45. To Hanalei and Waimea, the cost is $60.
