Hawaii: Star of Honolulu to take a dry-dock hiatus before Christmas

Share

If you’re planning a Star of Honolulu dinner cruise in December, better check your calendar. Oahu’s popular sailing trip will be closed part of the month.

The ship, which has been welcoming guests aboard its sunset sailings for 55 years, will be in dry dock Dec. 11-23.

Dinner cruising will resume on Christmas Eve and will also be available on Christmas Day. Whale watching trips return Dec. 26.

At 232 feet long, the Star of Honolulu is the largest vessel of its kind in Hawaii. It includes a 60-foot observation deck and can accommodate 1,500 passengers.

A smaller sister ship, the Dolphin Star, will continue to welcome guests while the Star is in dry dock.

Info: Star of Honolulu, (800) 334-6191.
