Laos and Cambodia: Quick trip for travelers in a hurry

Want an adventure but short on time? For travelers in a hurry, Mountain Travel Sobek has rolled out a series of trips called Express Excursions, with Laos, Nepal, the Galapagos Islands and the American Southwest among the destinations.
Its seven-day Laos and Cambodia adventure begins in the ancient Lao capital of Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and includes visits to major shrines and the National Museum. Other highlights in Laos include an elephant ride and a hike to a Khmu village, where travelers will meet members of this hill tribe.
In Siem Reap, the former capital of the Khmer Empire, you will have several days to visit the temple complex at Angkor Wat, the royal baths at Preah Neak Pean and the ancient city of Angkor Thom.
Dates: Nov. 10-16 and 24-30, Dec. 8-14, as well as departures throughout 2015.
Price: From $2,595, plus $265 for airfare from Luang Prabang to Siem Reap, Cambodia; $500 single supplement. Includes all accommodations and most meals. Visa fees and international airfare not included.
