England: Can’t stand crowds? Here’s a tour for quiet types
Travelers who prefer their own quiet thoughts rather than the chattering of guides will appreciate a gentle 10-day tour of the Wessex region in the south of England. There is no rushing from place to place: Excursions will take place every other day and focus on ancient landmarks both on and off the beaten path such as the Avebury Stone Circle, Wells Cathedral, Stanton Drew and Vale of the White Horse.
Guests will stay at the Abbey Retreat on the grounds of the ruined Glastonbury Abbey. In-between days are for relaxing and recharging, with options suchs as yoga, meditaton and walks in the retreat’s 37 acres of parkland. Each guest has a private room (no telephone or television), with shared bathroom.

Price: $3,795 per per person; no single supplement. Includes all excursions and meals, prepared in the abbey’s kitchen. Does not include international airfare or transportation to the Abbey Retreat. Availability may be limited.
