Snap close-ups of penguins on South Georgia Island photo tour

Say hello to thousands of king penguins on a two-week photography expedition to South Georgia Island, known as the Serengeti of the southern Atlantic because of its bountiful wildlife.
Two fall voyages to the British overseas territory, organized by One Ocean Expeditions, will each spend seven days in South Georgia, viewing fur and elephant seals, whales, albatross and other sea birds.
Passengers also visit the South Georgia Museum, the remains of whaling stations and the grave site of explorer Ernest Shackleton.
Dates: Oct. 26-Nov. 9 and Nov. 7-21
Price: From $10,295 for the Oct. 26 voyage and $13,195 for the Nov. 7 trip. Includes accommodations, meals, transfers, excursions, photography workshops, educational presentations and an expedition gear package. International airfare and charter flight not included.
