PhotoVentura festival starts with Gallery Crawl

The Oct. 20 event kicks off the PhotoVentura festival, which lasts through Nov. 3 and focuses on the local art scene with dozens of photo-themed exhibits and events. Participating galleries will coordinate to display fine-art photography, photo-art and multimedia projects during the festival. During the Gallery Crawl, visitors attend artist receptions at about 14 participating galleries. A good starting point is the visitors bureau, which will serve as an impromptu gallery. Pick up a map and be on your way.
