Los Angeles Times photographer Mark Boster will sign his photo book “Four Seasons of Yosemite: A Photographer’s Journey” from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday in the Globe Lobby of The Times, 202 W. 1st St., Los Angeles.
He will also sign books from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Barnes & Noble Santa Monica on the Third Street Promenade.
The foreword is by Robert Redford, and the book contains a DVD called “Yosemite: The Fate of Heaven,” narrated by Redford. The film used adaptations of an 1851 journal to highlight issues that the park faces as it works to accommodate nearly 4 million visitors a year.
Boster’s year-long quest to document the park appeared in the Travel section’s print edition and in a special package online, which was recently awarded a silver medal by the Society of American Travel Writers Lowell Thomas Foundation.
In a review last month, the Sacramento Bee said of the book, “This is the next-best thing to being there.”
The book, published by Time Capsule Press, is available for $34.95.
