Hawaii: Free nights with stays at Aston resorts on Maui, Kaui and the Big Island

Aston Hotels & Resorts has an early bird offer for those planning a spring trip to Hawaii. The resort chain is offering a free night with multiple night stays at its hotels and condos on three islands.

The deal: Early Birds Get the Deal offers a third, fourth or fifth night free, depending on the island and the property. The offer is good on Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. The hotels and condos included in this offer range in price and amenities. I suggest perusing the list on the offer page to see which place works for your budget. (Aston is also offering up to 25% off its standard rates on Oahu.)

When: Good for stays from April 25 to June 15, but you must reserve by Jan. 31.

Tested: I chose one of the more upscale properties to test the deal: the Aston Kaanapali Shores on Maui, which is on the beach and about four miles from Lahaina. I went online and found a one-bedroom suite with full kitchen on Memorial Day weekend (May 26 to 30) for $243 per night, plus tax. I could book three nights at that rate and get the fourth night free, effectively reducing the per-night rate to $182. Total cost with tax: $826.80.
