Cyber Monday 2011: 25% off rooms at Hyatt Santa Barbara

Cyber Monday shopping starts today with a special offer from Hyatt Santa Barbara. If the name doesn’t ring a bell, that’s because Hyatt only recently took over the 80-year-old ocean-front Hotel Mar Monte at 1111 E. Cabrillo Blvd.

Some guest rooms, the lobby and the pool and deck area have been refurbished; other rooms are in the middle of a $9-million renovation expected to be completed in 2012. For those who want to check out the new look, the hotel takes off 25% on room rates for reservations made on Cyber Monday.

The deal: The discount applies to the daily rate at the 171-room hotel and includes breakfast for two and free parking. Use the code “CYBM” when making a reservation by phone or online.

When: The offer is good from until 11:59 p.m. Monday for stays Dec. 1-March 29. Some blackout dates apply.

Details: I couldn’t yet test this offer, but I did check on the regular daily rates for a few random dates in winter. For example, rooms start at $209 a night Dec. 9-11 and $259 a night Jan. 27-29; prices don’t include tax. A quarter off these prices would make for a nice pre- or post-holiday trip to Santa Barbara, with a leisurely breakfast to boot.
