Daily Deal: Paddle along Brazil’s lush Costa Verde -- and save

Share

Tour Brazil’s coastal rain forest and fishing villages about 150 miles west of Rio de Janeiro on a 10-day sea kayaking trip in October. Paddlers of all abilities have a chance to explore the Costa Verde, an area with warm southern Atlantic waters inland from the Ilha Grande, or Big Island.

The tour from Oregon-based Tofino Expeditions, which specializes in trips for “water people,” includes visits to the colonial town of Paraty, and Saco de Mamangua, what’s described as a tropical fjord lined with villages and beaches. And you can learn how to stand-up paddle too (boards provided). The trip begins with a tour of Rio de Janeiro, the city that will host the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics.

The deal: Tofino offers a $500 per person discount that’s good right up until departure. Spaces are still available on this group trip limited to 10 people, and minimum age for participants is 12 years old.
