Vietnam: Caravelle Hotel honors country’s culture

The Caravelle Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, is celebrating the city’s cultural heritage with a package that includes a performance at the neighboring Saigon Opera House.
The four-day, three-night “Opera Nights” package installs guests in the hotel’s Opera Suite, overlooking Lam Son Square and the opera house, where guests will attend a performance of “Hon Viet” (“Soul of Vietnam”). Before the program, guests will have dinner in the hotel’s fine-dining restaurant, Reflections.
Built in 1897, the Saigon Opera House was designed by French architects to resemble France’s Petit Palais, erected in the same year.
“Hon Viet” is performed twice a month, on the 15thand the 23rd.The show presents hundreds of years of Vietnamese history and culture in an hourlong production featuring traditional music and dancing.
Additional “Opera Nights” highlights are a relaxation spa package for two at the Caravelle’s new Kara Salon & Spa, as well as complimentary cocktails, canapes and other refreshments at the hotel’s Signature Lounge.
The “Opera Nights” package is priced at $2,237, which includes a daily breakfast buffet, taxes and service charges. The offer is good for three-night stays over the 15thor 23rdof each month, through May.
