SuperShuttle launched a winter sale for those who need an extra incentive not to drive to the airport. The national shuttle service takes 10% off fares for shared van rides to and from airports nationwide and gives travelers frequent-flier miles or points too.

The deal: The sale is good at SuperShuttle locations nationwide, including airports in Los Angeles, Burbank, Long Beach and Santa Ana (John Wayne Airport). The bookings must be made online or using the company’s mobile site or smartphone apps. Use the discount code “WSALE” when making a reservation.

For each one-way trip, riders receive 50 frequent-flier miles on Delta, Frontier, United, US Airways and 100 points on Southwest. Enter the account number at the time of booking to get the points or miles credited to your account. (It may take six to eight weeks to post, according to SuperShuttle).

When: The offier is good for reservations made through March 15.

Tested: I checked on availability for one person from my home in San Pedro to Los Angeles International Airport. Prices are usually $29 for the first person and $9 for the second person in a shared van. I received a fare of $26.10, reflecting the 10% discount. Note the sale applies only to shared van service and not the exclusive van or ExecuCar services.
