Some of Las Vegas’ best bartenders will show off their skills during a five-event contest that begins Wednesday at Insert Coins, a popular downtown venue that combines night life with classic and contemporary video games.

Contestants will demonstrate their mixology skills and their flashy styles during the Industry All-Stars Bartender Competition Series. Each month through July, bartenders will go head to head for cash and prizes and opportunities to advance to the next round.

The contestants include Adam Cantrell from Commonwealth, a trendy downtown bar; Lea Fujikawa from Moon, a nightclub at the Palms; and Double D from PURE Nightclub at Caesars Palace.

Patrons will determine who advances by the volume of drinks they order from each entrant. The bartenders’ showdown will begin at midnight.

The competition will continue April 24, May 29, June 26 and July 31.

“We look forward to joining forces with the best bars and nightclubs in the city,” Chris LaPorte, Insert Coins’ founder, said in a news release.

The nightspot is at 512 Fremont St., a block east of the Fremont Street Experience.
