Maybe you’ve eaten at one of Nobu’s restaurants or stayed in his signature Caesars Palace hotel in Las Vegas, but have you ever sailed with the Japanese sushi chef? Here’s your chance.

Chef Nobu Matsuhisa will be mingling and cooking aboard a Black Sea cruise this summer on the Crystal Symphony. For the past two years, he has appeared on one voyage a year with Crystal Cruises, whose ships carry his Silk Road and Sushi Bar restaurants. Nobu will be onboard during the entire 12-day cruise with members of his family.

Passengers will be able to indulge their inner gourmand by taking part in a special Chef’s Choice dinner, go to sake tastings, watch live cooking demonstrations and get their cookbooks signed and their photos taken with the 64-year-old who has become synonymous with upscale Asian fare. He will be accompanied by sake master Fumio Hazu.

The cruise starts in Rome and stops at Sorrento and Taormina, Sicily, in Italy; Odessa and Yalta in Ukraine; Constanta in Romania; and Sochi, Russia, site of the 2014 Winter Games.

The deal: Guests who make a reservation by April 30 will receive a discount of up to $900 a person off the price of the cruise.

When: The cruise leaves July 13 from Rome and arrives July 25 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Price: Starting at $5,510 per person (with $900 discount), double occupancy. It includes the cruise, meals and beverages (including wine and spirits), and activities and entertainment onboard the ship. Port charges of $435 per person and international airfare are extra.

Tested: I checked online and found availability at the lowest price for a cabin on the seventh deck. Total price for two, including port fees: $11,890.
