Rob Gronkowski spikes his birthday cake -- twice -- in Las Vegas
Reporting from Las Vegas — After the Olympics, it seemed like you couldn’t go one weekend without seeing swimmer Ryan Lochte hosting a party at a nightclub in Las Vegas. Now it’s Super Bowl champion New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski who shows up all over.
His latest appearance had him at the Rehab pool party at the Hard Rock Hotel with deejay sets from Joe Hahn of Linkin Park on Saturday, May 9, and Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy on Sunday, May 10.
Gronkowski, who turns 26 on Thursday, May 14, kicked off his birthday celebration with teammate Chandler Jones and professional wrestler Mojo Rawley, as well as his father and brothers at the pool party.
Gronk signed autographs, showered partygoers in champagne and participated in dance offs with his friends. The birthday boy was later surprised with a football-shaped cake and he promptly spiked it, sending pieces of the cake into the screaming audience.
Joe Hahn from Linkin Park was on the decks.
Gronkowski returned on Sunday, again showering fans with champagne, tossing inflated footballs and giving away foam fist drink holders. True to form, Gronk spiked his second birthday cake pieces.
Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy provided the tunes.
