Mariah Carey books nine new dates for 2016 at Caesars Palace

Reporting from Las Vegas — Singer Mariah Carey wrapped up the first leg of her Las Vegas residency at the end of May. Now the global superstar is ready to book some additional dates at Caesars Palace.
The first run that started May 6 sold out The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Nine more shows of “Mariah #1 to Infinity” were added in February 2016, including a Valentine’s Day performance.
The show with Carey, who before this residency rarely performed live, takes fans through 18 of her No. 1 hits in chronological order backed by a six-piece live band, three back-up singers, two deejays and 10 dancers.
Among the songs performed: “Vision of Love,” “Hero,” “Fantasy,” “We Belong Together” and “Touch My Body,” all of which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The show ends with “Infinity,” Carey’s latest hit.
Carey will be performing Feb. 2, 5, 6, 10, 13, 14, 17, 20 and 21.
Carey also returns to Las Vegas on July 8 with nine dates that month.
The singer released her first album with Epic Records in May, “Mariah Carey #1 To Infinity.”
Recent celebrity sightings at Carey’s Vegas show include country singer Shania Twain, actor and director Lee Daniels, Boyz II Men member Wayna Morris, Emmy-nominated actress Taraji P. Henson and R&B singer and songwriter Johnny Gill.
