Developing: Tsunami warning canceled after 7.4 quake strikes off El Salvador

A magnitude-7.4 earthquake struck south of Intipuca, El Salvador, Monday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tsunami warning was issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centerbut, but it was canceled shortly thereafter.

According to USGS tracking maps, the quake hit offshore, about 44 miles deep, at approximately 9:51 p.m. local time.
