Kyle MacLachlan is a man of many TV titles. He's the mayor on "Portlandia." He's "The Captain" on "How I Met Your Mother." (Nobody beats his readings from "H.M.S. Pinafore." Nobody.) And on "Believe," he's Dr. Roman Skouras, a renowned geneticist with dark secrets and plans to build a psychic army.
MacLachlan will be joining the Envelope for a live Web chat on at 11 a.m. PDT Wednesday to talk about all these roles. And we'll probably ask him about "Twin Peaks" too, because A) there's a new box set coming out in July with 90 minutes of never-before-seen scenes from the prequel "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me," and B) how can we not talk about "Twin Peaks," right? We still can't order a slice of cherry pie and a cup of joe without thinking of MacLachlan.
"Believe," co-created by Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuaron, won decent reviews but couldn't make much of a ratings dent in its competitive Sunday night slot and won't be returning. Did it receive a fair shake? We're pretty sure MacLachlan will have a thing or two to say about that as well as a host of other subjects. If you have something you'd like to ask him, leave your questions in the comments section of this story or tweet them to #asklatimes, and we'll pass them along.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
