Kelsey Grammer: Not a fan of Camille Grammer — or cross-dressing

Kelsey Grammer and his ex-wife Camille Grammer do not get along. Not even close, by his measure.

He won’t even speak her name.

“I don’t want to say a lot of bad things, but some very bad things were said,” Kelsey told Oprah Winfrey in an interview to air Sunday on “Oprah’s Next Chapter.”

“Some threats were made, and some extremely unacceptable behavior took place in front of the children, which makes it impossible for us to pretend that we can be civil. It needs to be handled by other people.”

That person who will not be named, he said, “always wanted to be famous, and was angry that she had given up ‘so much’ to be with me.”

While the third Mrs. Grammer’s 13-year marriage was melting down — he said the partnership was “pretty much over before it began” and was like a “self-imposed ... sentence” — she leveled one particular accusation against him that got the headlines going: that the Broadway and TV star liked to wear women’s clothing.

“Never been a cross-dresser,” he told Oprah, shortly after explaining that a lot of what had gone on was “show” and not “reality.” “I don’t live as a cross-dresser, but I have been very sexually adventurous.”

Now, what that means, he wouldn’t share. Thank goodness for small favors? Almost immediately after his divorce was final, Kelsey of course went on to marry Kayte Walsh, with whom he has a new child.

Regarding “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” he said, “I made a couple of quick appearances to honor that deal of it and bequeathed to this person ... a new life. You know, go off and play that part that you always wanted to play.”

Seems that’s getting along famously.
