In its first weekend of release, “Gravity” grossed $55.8 million — about $10 million more than the most hopeful estimates — and has attracted some of the year’s most favorable reviews, the best of any movie in wide release in all of 2013.

But where would you place the tale of two astronauts — played by George Clooney and Sandra Bullock —in the pantheon of the best space movies? Is “Gravity,” as Cameron says, the best ever?
